Seventies Singles - Month By Month |
|

ere's a more comprehensive listing by month of some of the biggest and most popular songs of the Seventies. Every year contains at least 180 hit songs, and song titles are arranged in alphabetical order within each month. Billboard pop chart peak positions are also provided for those songs that reached the American Top 40; a (#1) next to a song title indicates that it obtained number-one status in the U.S.; (G) identifies songs that were certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America; and (P) marks those that went platinum. (Note that the platinum award was not instituted by the RIAA until 1976, and that record companies must apply for these certifications.)
